What's Included?

Remove   Existing antivirus, antispyware and anti-anything-else on your PC is removed. These products frequently conflict and once gone performance and reliability should improve.   Allow up to 15 minutes for this stage (and within the fixed price).

Reboot  Ensure clean-boot functionality.

Install  The latest version of our recommended product is installed, updated and a basic scan performed as your previous antivirus may have missed something. License costs may apply, typically £30+VAT less discount for multiple installations. Defender is free and usually reactivates itself automatically.

Optional Tune-Up  Windows computers frequently become slower over time - combat this with our rapid optimisation and house-keeping service for just £10+VAT extra per computer when booked alongside another service. Our Maintenance Contract includes this Tune-Up annually.

What Else Do I Need to Know?

This service is suitable for standard PCs including desktop, tower, portable laptop, notebook and netbook.  Ask about alternative services for workstations or servers.

At the agreed appointment time all equipment must be ready and available. Users need to have logged off and shut down.  Portable machines must be on site! Revisits (unless our fault) are £20+VAT. We suggest arranging at the lunch break or the end of the working day, allow at least 15 minutes per computer.

Permission to Work

1. When you book a service we require your permission to work on your equipment.

2. Should your PC have or be suspected to have a virus you should book a specific Engineer visit for this. Our fixed price services include a maxumum of 30 minutes per PC which is insufficient for virus remediation.

3. Your computer must be reasonably serviceable. If performance is already on it's knees we recommend you book a Tune-Up service and consider upgrades like memory or Windows reinstallation.

4. We are not responsible for the condition of your equipment. Our Engineers follow best working practices, but any intervention could bring forward a failure which was already imminent.  We work honestly, keeping you informed of whatever we find. You are welcome to book additional Engineer time to resolve a discovered issue.

5. Ensure you have backed up all data before any procedure on your computer.  We assume appropriate backups are in place as data loss is not our responsibility.  We are happy to review your backup processes if you book additional time for this.

6. Our work will require an 'administrator' password. You may wish to provide a temporary account which can be deleted after our visit.
