What is included?

First Visit   Determine what upgrade is most suitable and provide a written quotation to supply the parts.  Allow 10 minutes per PC, plus the time it takes to log off and shut down. This work may be undertaken by a remote engineer.

Second Visit  Install the memory upgrade and check for full functionality.  Takes around 15 minutes.

Optional Tune-Up  Because Windows computers slow down over time we offer a rapid optimisation and house-keeping service for just £10 extra per computer alongside another service. Combined with a memory upgrade this Tune-Up frequently saves customers the cost and disruption of computer replacement. Our Annual Service Contract includes this for free.

What Else Do I Need to Know?

Please remember that this fixed price service includes our time but not the parts. We can provide a competitive quotation or the information you need to purchase yourself. Should a part we supply have a fault then we shall return at our cost with a replacement part.  Should a part you supply be faulty then our fee for the additional visit is £20+VAT.

This service is suitable for standard PCs including desktop, tower, portable laptops, notebooks and netbooks. Ask about alternative services for workstations and servers.

At the agreed appointment time all equipment must be ready and available on site. Users need to have logged off or shut down.  Portable machines must be on site! Revisits (unless our fault) are £10+VAT. We suggest you book at lunch or the end of the working day, allowing at least 10 minutes per computer for each of the two visits.  Waiting time is free up to 15 minutes and then £10+VAT per 15 minutes or part thereof.

Permission to Work

When you book any service we require your permission for us to work on your equipment.

Should your PC have or is suspected to have a virus you should book a specific Engineer visit to resolve this. Our fixed price services include up to 20 minutes per PC which is not sufficient for virus removal in addition to the booked work.

Your computer must be reasonably serviceable. If performance is already on it's knees we recommend you book a Tune-Up or repair service as well.

We cannot be held responsible for the condition of your equipment. Our Engineers follow best working practices, but any intervention could bring forward a failure which was imminent.  We work honestly, keeping you informed of whatever we find and you are welcome to book additional Engineer time to resolve a discovered issue.

Please backup your data before any procedure on any PC.  We assume appropriate backups are in place as data loss, although rare, is not our responsibility.  We are happy to review your backup processes if you book additional time for this.

Some of our work will require an 'administrator' password, and you may wish to provide a temporary account which can be deleted after our visit.
