This written report provides advice on the condition of major components including:

hard disc
memory (installed and potential)
processing capability
and overall suitability for purpose

This report is included free with our Annual Service Contract.

What is Included?

Hard Disc Drive We examine the 'SMART' information collected automatically by your drive over time to determine health and estimated time before failure. If you catch a failing hard drive before failure the repair is cheap as your data can simply be copied across to a replacement. We also report on free space where this could be affecting performance.

Hardware Under the covers inspection checks those components more prone to failure like capacitors and fans. Advice is also provided on environmental factors which cause overheating and premature failure.

Memory Generally the more the better. The report will show your options for upgrade and estimate the costs.

Optional Tune-Up

Windows computers slow down over time. Combat this with our optimisation and house-keeping service for £10 per computer when completed alongside this report. Along with a memory upgrade our tune-up could save you the cost and disruption of replacement. The tune-up is already included in our Annual Service Contract.

What Else Do I Need to Know?

This report is suitable for standard PCs whether desktop or tower, as well as netbooks, laptops and notebooks. Ask about alternative services for workstations and servers.

When you book this service you confirm that we cannot be held responsible for the condition of your equipment. Whilst our procedures take great care of your equipment, any intervention carries a small risk of bringing forward a failure which was imminent. We will keep you informed of whatever we find, and if you wish you may book our Engineer to help you resolve any issue which arises.

Please backup your data before this or any procedure on any PC. If you don't have a backup procedure in place, or require any help with this please ask ahead of this visit which assumes backups are in place. Data loss is extremely unlikely but we cannot be held responsible.

Your agreed appointment is the time when all relevant equipment will be available on site. Users must log off or shut down, and portable machines must be physically in the office! Revisits (unless our fault) are £20+VAT. We suggest a booking for the end of the working day and you should allow at least 15 minutes per computer.

For memory upgrade assessment and tune-up you need to provide our Engineer with an 'administrator' password. You may wish to create an account specifically for our visit which can be deleted afterwards.
